The HV850 fibreglass mesh forms the core of the HV850 FibreScreed™ System - a surface-reinforcing, crack-suppressant solution created when the mesh is embedded within a breathable, mineral-based flexible screed. (See recommended screed link below).
Unlike coarse open-weave meshes, HV850 features a fine weave that integrates smoothly into the screed, creating a seamless base ready for painted decoration, textured effects, or polished plaster finishes.
Manufactured in Germany and developed for decorative applications, it delivers outstanding diagonal tensile strength, low organic content, and long-term dimensional stability.
The system is used over new plaster to help suppress hairline cracks, and across older walls with mixed substrates - such as chases, sockets, and patch repairs - to harmonise the surface and reduce movement cracks between materials.
The result is a stable, resilient foundation that supports the longevity of specialist decorative finishes and reduces the need for remedial work - a method proven for over two decades by Henry van der Vijver specialist decoration team in London, establishing HV850 FibreScreed™ as a trusted standard in decorative surface preparation.
