Using VPP200 Glass Lining Fleece for the first time

Dear Chris,

I was asked to line a problem ceiling within a property refurbishment. It had problems with re-accruing cracks and had been plaster patched in various places.

I would normally use Erfurt Wallrock fibre liner but have seen cracks nip the paper in time, leaving annoying marks. Having seen the great comments on Decorators Forum about the VPP200 I thought I’d source and give this product a go.

I’m so glad I did! Great to use. Primed bare plaster with PVA solution, then gave the surface a liberal coat of red top power adhesive with a long pile roller. Then applied the fabric, smoothing it with a caulking tool. It butted up well and the seams stayed tight. I even spliced it, in an awkward area, and it’s nigh on invisible.

Great product – I will definitely use it now on all lining jobs.
